Heather Egan

Founder & Managing Attorney

Heather Egan has experience practicing family law throughout Northern Illinois, including at the partner level of an established firm, before founding Egan Law Firm LLC. This experience included every kind of case a family court sees, from contested divorces and high-conflict custody disputes to quiet uncontested matters, and everything inbetween.

What has stayed constant is a belief that clients deserve more than a case number. They deserve a lawyer who knows the facts of their case, explains what’s actually happening, is always prepared, and treats the outcome as something that has to work for a real family — not just look good on paper.

Egan Law Firm was built from the ground up around that belief: a firm sized to give every client direct access to their attorney.

Why We Started Here

Family law is rarely just about the law

Family law proceedings sit at the intersection of legal process and the most personal moments of a client’s life. A good outcome on paper can still feel like a loss if the process itself was confusing, adversarial for no reason, or slow enough to drain a family’s resources and patience.

Egan Law Firm exists to close that gap — pairing serious legal preparation with a practice built around communication, so clients always understand their options and never feel like a bystander in their own case.

That approach shapes how the firm is run day to day: manageable caseloads, direct communication with your attorney rather than a rotating team, and a fee structure explained up front, before any work begins.

What Guides the Work

Three commitments behind every case

Clarity

Plain explanations of the law, the process, and the realistic range of outcomes — from the first consultation onward.

Advocacy

Thorough preparation on every matter, so negotiations happen from strength rather than pressure to settle quickly.

Steadiness

A calm, consistent presence through a process that is rarely calm for the family living through it.

Let’s talk about your case

Every family’s situation is different. A consultation is the fastest way to understand your options.
